Sue Drouin M.S., CCC-SLP is a practicing speech�language pathologist who

Anger and Frustration can be more devastating to a special needs family than the special need
itself. Sydney Sauber has been in the field of education for 17 years. Currently she is writing
a book about special education reform. She is the proprietor of Synergy Solutions Educational
Consulting which provides educational advocacy, and consultation services to families and young
people dealing with issues related to IEP's and 504 Plans. She, herself, has a history of ADHD,
verbal and non-verbal learning differences. She will discuss Anger Management in Special
Needs Families, and will cover managing what to say or not to say. The purpose of this
interactive workshop is to support special needs families in finding alternative methods
for dealing with anger management challenges within the family. Other topics covered
will include: anger vs. frustration, escalating vs. deescalating responses, and coping
strategies for assisting children in taking responsibility for their behaviors.
